p. 97 December 5, 1998 Thank you for your kind words. None of us realized the sickness of Joe. So we were all his prey including Mark and Paul. As we look around or view history, life is both complex and diff icult. Everyone seems to have their trag- edies. If we try we must be willing to fail. With Love and Respect, Leonard S. Shoen December 18, 1998 I will be forever grateful for your help this past week. I was at the end of my rope and knew not what to do. It was worse than that but I do not want to admit it. I cannot put into words what this means to me. We are looking forward to seeing you all soon. Care for yourself and your family. God love you. With much love and respect, Your dad, Leonard October 25, 1998 I can also understand how after a time a project gets boring and the joy is over- come by the headaches accompanying the ownership of whatever. This is what happens to me. I get some- thing built and then I want to move on. Only this time I am old and I will never start another project of any magnitude. Staying alive may be all I can handle. I am feeling my age it seems. One thing is that last week (for a full seven days) I traveled to Seville , Spain for a fi ve day convention of WTC’s. I returned burned out and spoke of the trip as being a form of torture. I have no need for travel at this time in my life. I am as well as ever but the old fi re is missing. I am wondering how you and your family are coping. Life is a challenge. Leonard S. Shoen
